A lucky photographer was fortunate enough to spot a lone seal floating along the River Itchen.
The seal was spotted on some debris in the river near St Denys - allowing the camera whiz to capture pictures of the cute seafaring mammal.
While not a regular occurrence, seals have been spotted before in Southampton waters. Grey seals have previously been spotted hunting for food in the River Hamble.
In February, a grey seal pup born on the Beaulieu River was believed to be the first to be raised in Hampshire waters.
This inquisitive and relaxed creature was photographed by Daily Echo Camera Club member John Scamell.
He shared the images on Sunday.
