A planning application has been submitted to Southampton City Council to demolish a large HMO and build eight new flats of varying sizes in Portswood.
The proposal includes the demolition of the existing late 19th century building which was purpose built for one family.
Today the building acts as an HMO and currently houses seven people.
The application details the construction of a modern two and a half storey building containing eight new flats of different sizes.
As stated in the planning application, the eight new flats will include three one-bedroom flats, four two-bedroom flats, and a single three-bedroom flat.
The site sits adjacent to the busy Westridge Road carpark off Portswood Road.
Within the application the developer states that many of the former large, detached dwellings on Westridge Road have either been converted to apartments or redeveloped for new apartment blocks.
