Hampshire charity Youth Options has received a £1,500 donation from David Wilson Homes.

Demand for Youth Options' services, which support young people in overcoming life barriers, saw a hefty rise of 33% in sessions delivered last year.

The investment will bolster the charity’s ability to serve more young people in need across Hampshire. Support varies, from open-access youth sessions to intensive key work.

In addition to supporting children, the charity offers affordable childcare opportunities such as pre-schools and nature clubs. The donation was made as part of the Community Fund scheme via The Barratt Foundation.

Carly Redwood, Fundraising Manager at Youth Options, said: "There is a need for youth support now more than ever. We support children and young people across three key areas which focus on community youth work, targeted support, and providing opportunities for future development.

"This donation will allow us to continue offering accessible support to those most in need, creating opportunities for them to realise their potential and have a chance of a better future.

"There was pure joy, delight, and elation when we were approached about the donation. The children and young people are at the heart of everything we do, as we are a people’s organisation and being chosen is a great affirmation for the recognition of our transforming work."
